Braves place Wickman on DL

Baseball Betting Lines

05/01/2007 - Atlanta, GA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Atlanta Braves closer Bob Wickman was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday with upper back tendinitis.

Wickman, who has battled back problems in the past, has had a rough stretch for the Braves recently. In his last three appearances, he has allowed six runs -- five earned -- on five hits with six walks and one strikeout over 1 2/3 innings. The right-hander suffered two blown saves and one loss over that stretch.

For the season, Wickman is 1-1 with a 3.97 ERA and six saves.

To replace Wickman on the 25-man roster, the Braves activated pitcher Chad Paronto from the 15-day disabled list. He has been out since April 13 with a strained groin.
