Former Redskins LB Mitchell passes away

05/01/2007 - Ashburn, VA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Former Washington Redskins linebacker Kevin Mitchell passed away on Monday. He was 36-year-old.

Originally a second round pick of San Francisco in the 1994 draft, Mitchell played 10 NFL seasons with the 49ers, Saints and Redskins. Mitchell spent his last four seasons in Washington before he called it quits prior to the 2004 season.

"Kevin and his family are in my thoughts and prayers today, and in the prayers of the entire Redskins organization," Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder said. "He was one of the first players I bonded with and was a great family man.
